The photography workshop will extend the fieldwork methodology of the Mirage project, inviting participants to explore the area around FIFF and visit abandoned, underused, or easily overlooked buildings and sites in the urban environment. Participants may use any photographic equipment, including mobile phones, to observe these forgotten corners of the city through their own lenses. Through on-site fieldwork and subsequent discussion, they will share their impressions of space, history, and urban transformation.

The workshop is not only a photography exercise, but also a collective practice of looking at the city. Starting from their own personal experiences, participants will be invited to rediscover the hidden stories and traces embedded in their surroundings.

Participants should bring their own camera equipment – any camera is welcome, including a mobile phone – and wear comfortable walking shoes.

All workshop participants are also encouraged to attend the artist’s open lecture on 25 June (Thursday) at 18:30. Yao Jui-Chung will speak about his artistic practice, providing an introduction to the workshop’s practical and fieldwork-based component.
